Terms of Service & Acceptable Use

IslandNet Global Networks · Saint Kitts and Nevis. These terms apply to every IslandNet connection.

1. The service

  • IslandNet Global Networks supplies internet service to the address agreed with the customer, at the package speed selected.
  • Speeds quoted are the capacity delivered to the service equipment at the premises. Performance over Wi-Fi inside the premises depends on the customer's own devices and layout.
  • Installation is normally completed within one to three business days of a completed sign-up, subject to access, weather and confirmed coverage.

2. Equipment

  • All equipment supplied by IslandNet remains the property of IslandNet, including the outdoor unit, antenna, customer premises equipment and any IslandNet router.
  • Where an IslandNet router is supplied, a refundable deposit is collected at sign-up and returned when the service ends, the equipment is returned in working order and the account is settled in full.
  • Equipment lost, discarded or damaged beyond fair wear and tear is chargeable at replacement value, and the deposit is forfeited.
  • A customer may supply their own router. In that case no deposit is collected, the installation charge applies, and support and replacement of that router remain the customer's responsibility.
  • The customer gives IslandNet technicians reasonable access to the premises to install, inspect, maintain, repair and later remove IslandNet equipment.

3. Billing, payment and suspension

  • Invoices are issued on the 1st of each month for that month of service, in Eastern Caribbean dollars.
  • A connection taken up during a month is charged for the remaining days of that month. A connection taken up from the 20th onward also covers the following month.
  • Customers are advised to pay on the 1st, and a thirty-day payment cycle applies from the invoice date.
  • Where a balance remains after the cycle, service is suspended after a short grace period of three to five days following generation of the new invoice. No disconnection is carried out on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.
  • A suspended service is restored when the previous balance is paid in full. Charges already incurred remain payable.

4. Ending the service

  • Residential service is not a fixed-term contract. The customer may end it at any time by notifying IslandNet.
  • On termination, IslandNet equipment must be made available for collection and all outstanding charges become payable.
  • IslandNet may suspend or end service for non-payment, for interference with the network, or where the service is used unlawfully.

5. Acceptable use

  • The service must not be used for any unlawful purpose, or to send, store or distribute unlawful material.
  • The service must not be used to send unsolicited bulk email, to attempt unauthorised access to any system, to scan or attack networks, or to distribute malicious software.
  • The service must not be resold or redistributed beyond the premises without IslandNet's written agreement.
  • The customer is responsible for securing their own equipment and network, including router passwords and connected devices.
  • IslandNet may manage traffic where necessary to protect the network, and may suspend an account that threatens network stability or the service of other customers.

6. Support and service interruptions

  • Faults may be reported through the IslandNet app, by email to success@islandnetkn.com, or by calling 1-869-465-9435.
  • Planned maintenance and service interruptions are announced by email and in the IslandNet app, with timing and an all-clear.
  • IslandNet is not liable for interruptions caused by events outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, power failure and upstream provider outages.

7. General

  • These terms, together with the signed service agreement and the Privacy Policy, form the agreement between the customer and IslandNet.
  • IslandNet may update these terms. The current version is always published on this page, and material changes are announced to customers.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
